Web Development & KPI Tracking Strategist
Full-time preferred, part-time also available
We’re looking for a part-time web developer with experience in digital marketing and user experience website design that is in tune with the inner-workings of what is involved in developing advanced digital marketing strategies with a background in working with agencies that work in a variety of industries with a focus in e-commerce.
Here is how this position would look:
Where You Focus:
Your focus will be working with the creative team, a developer and designer is responsible for making ideas a reality. Fluency in custom Wordpress themes, Google app integration, CRM integration, JavaScript, CSS, GTM (Google Tag Manager) and HTML is essential. You would also be assisting our Digital Marketing Director with paid advertising operations, website updates, ad design and setting up tracking environments.
Who You Are:
You’re an experienced web developer and digital marketer, able to understand the connection of big-picture digital strategies and website user experience that demonstrates the alignment of our marketing plans with each brand’s goals and objectives.
Your Role:
Web Development and Design for Digital Strategies:
Web Development, Custom Wordpress Theme Design and Development, Technical Paid Ad management and operations, Google Tag Manager Implementation
Assist our team in setting up tracking environments for paid ad management
Collaboratively work with our team to use research and data from the team to direct the development tasks
Set our clients apart from competitors in quick turn around web development projects with a focus on quality assurance and multiple device functionality
Specific Task Responsibilities:
Details of our desired web developer’s role will vary depending on the client, but common activities include:
Staying abreast of the latest technologies to push campaigns further with advanced tracking and custom KPI measuring
Exploring ideas with team members, and offering insightful and creative input
Translating ideas into prototypes to determine their viability
CMS building
Custom Wordpress website development
Front and back end development
Handling tight deadlines with calm and kind responses
Attending meetings and briefings with clients and peers
Setting up tracking for digital marketing campaigns with the use of Google Tag Manager. Some of the common tracking points you would be asked to implement:
Tracking discount codes redeemed at checkout in Google Analytics
Tracking various events and goals in Google Analytics based on URLs or actions (e.g. button clicks)
Cross-domain tracking
Comprehensive tracking for e-commerce throughout social media channels such as Facebook, Pinterest, etc.
Setting up automated product feeds for Facebook and Google Shopping advertising
HTML, JavaScript, CSS and other coding
Ability to audit Google Analytics setups and secure clear and reliable data gathering
A developer may work across a number of digital platforms, in a variety of creative industries including; marketing, advertising and IT – and contributing to projects such as:
Website development
Front end development
Online advertising
App development
Micro-sites
Likely Coding Languages: JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP, Net, Python, Django, Ruby-on-Rails,
Back end development
Key Requirements
Prior experience in digital marketing, online presence growth and paid media
Working knowledge of search engine optimization practices
Outstanding ability to think creatively, strategically, identify and resolve problems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work within a team and independently
Good knowledge of Google Analytics
Experience with website optimization tools
Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Confidence to express ideas as part of a creative team
A clear and genuine knowledge of technology and digital tools
The ability to meet deadlines
Strong coding experience
A passionate approach to work with a desire to push boundaries
The ability to explain technical jargon to peers and clients
The skill to build a website from start to finish and to the highest standard
A full understanding of the structure of web, app and other digital projects
