Paid Advertising Specialist (Contract to Hire) 

Job Description:

We are thrilled to see you here! Mountain Laurel Digital is looking for an experienced, clever and curious Paid Advertising Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be developing and implementing advanced paid marketing strategies. You will help determine and adjust the profitable digital channel mix based on performance data and needs, outlining long-term, sustainable growth for clients.

In addition to managing paid advertising work, this candidate will help MLD build and nurture strong client relationships. You will be involved in consultative client calls, presentations and budget management. Ideal candidates will have experience in account management across a variety of industries. We are looking for someone with an ability to understand the connection between big-picture paid media strategies and website user experience. You’ll use these connections to demonstrate the alignment of our marketing plans with each brand’s goals and objectives.


Your Role: 

Assistance with Paid Media Strategy Development

  • Set our clients apart from competitors in ad buying strategy. Position them strongly for market growth and recognition across digital media channels

  • Assist with paid media strategy across various platforms, primarily Google (YouTube, Search and Shopping), META and LinkedIn. Experience with any other paid channel is a big plus

  • Provide budget recommendations for ad spends

  • Set the optimal channel mix and content distribution based on the client’s goals, budgets, target audiences and industry

  • Strategize content distribution between channels

  • Set KPIs for performance evaluation

  • Track strategy based on chosen KPIs

Execution + Management of Paid Media Strategy

  • Campaign set-up and management across various paid marketing platforms, primarily Google, META and LinkedIn

  • Research trends and keywords to inform the strategy and drive the most valuable traffic

  • Data Analysis and Tracking

    • Work with a developer to align on Google Tag Manager and goal tracking setup with KPI goals

    • Use this data to discover trends and insights that can then be used to develop a successful strategy, as well as put together reports that address the value driven through advertising

  • Implement strategies to convert visitors

  • Review and analyze landing pages on client sites for areas that can be improved and optimized

  • Analyze keywords and paid media techniques used by competitors

  • Stay up to date on platform advertising guidelines to avoid ad disapprovals and account suspensions and to deliver content that’s optimized for maximum performance

  • Collaborate with branding, content and paid media teams while managing multiple paid media projects simultaneously

  • Directly oversee and sign off on creative elements for paid media purposes to ensure that materials adhere to client guidelines and are in line with the current brand strategy

  • Create analytics and paid ads reports for clients

Client Relationship Management

  • Work closely with the account manager to understand the current scope and client needs

  • Assist on outlining long-term, sustainable growth strategies for clients

  • Compile and present paid media guidelines

  • Participate in client calls and presentations, using a consultative approach

  • Identify and bridge educational gaps to secure alignment on strategy and client’s comfort

  • Communicate areas of opportunity or needs for strategy adjustments to secure full transparency


Key Requirements: 

  • Two to five years of experience in digital marketing, online presence growth and paid media

  • Fundamental knowledge of Google Analytics 4

  • Experience with website optimization tools

  • Outstanding ability to think creatively and strategically

  • An ability to identify and resolve problems 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members

  • Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills

  • Kindness, open-mindedness and a strong team spirit 

  • Strong understanding of CPA, CR, ROAS, attribution, and other paid performance metrics and concepts
