As a woman-owned and operated digital marketing agency, we are constantly in awe of the incredible women in our circle.

Meet Jamie Lamonde, founder and CEO of Kindship Group. She’s an incredible marketing professional, dedicated mother, and dear friend.

We had the privilege of sitting down and chatting with Jamie, and we’re here to share a little bit of her story in celebration of our partnership with Kindship Group.

You’ve worked in the world of organic and sustainable food and farming for your entire career. What made you choose that professional path?

When I was in my early 20’s, I was very dedicated to environmental causes, and I wanted to make a positive impact in any way that I could.

After college, I moved to Colorado and met two women who ended up being very influential figures in my life. One of them had severe food sensitivities and was a fierce advocate for organic eating and the other was an organic gardener. They became pivotal role models in my life and deepened my dream to live a sustainable lifestyle.

I ended up moving to Wisconsin to buy my own small hobby farm. It became my lifestyle and my passion.

Soon after, I began a job at Organic Valley, which evolved into an 11 year career, and that’s really where I got my start and grew as a marketing professional in the organic food movement and industry.

What inspired you to start Kindship Group?

Even at a young age, I knew I didn’t want to work for a large corporation that wasn’t mission driven. I wanted to be part of something bigger — part of an organization that cared about people and the environment. That became the premise for my career.

In addition to working at Organic Valley, I had also founded Edible Madison magazine and published it for 10 years before selling it in 2020.  Over the years, I held leadership roles at other brands. Through all of these experiences, I had the great pleasure of collaborating with so many amazingly talented, purpose-driven professionals--including Casey Nifong, the founder of Mountain Laurel Digital!

After all of my experiences across 20+ years, I saw the opportunity to help more people by creating a collaborative agency made up of many of the amazing people I had gotten to know and work with over the years. By coming together, we would be able to offer a full menu of business development, marketing and communications services to mission-driven organizations and brands. My inspiration lies in wanting to support leaders in growing their missions and businesses.  This is at the heart of why I founded Kindship Group.

Why do you feel that an organization like the Kindship Group is so important for businesses today?

Sadly in today’s culture, work environments aren’t always nurturing. My goal is to reimagine the work environment for others by building something that’s thoughtful and caring.

As a collaborative agency, Kindship Group aims to cultivate a work environment with core values such as heart-centered leadership and practicing gratitude. We want to shift workplace culture starting with our own, while helping mission driven leaders use their businesses as vehicles for change — all to impact our culture in a positive way.

What does your day-to-day work look like as Founder and CEO?

I’m often sharing our vision, thinking about what five years down the line might look like for Kindship Group, and what we could accomplish together through our partnerships. I do a lot of networking, looking for ways to be more helpful, interacting with clients, and engaging with our team.

Aside from my life as a professional, I’m also a mom. Cooking, helping with virtual learning, and just being there for my kids is an important part of my life.

What do you find most rewarding about the work you’re doing?

I love connecting with people — building relationships fuels me. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to meet new people, hear their challenges, and figure out ways to help them.

I also have an amazing team that genuinely feels like family. Getting to work with them every day is incredible and makes work that much more enjoyable.

What are some of the ways the Kindship Group empowers businesses to grow for good?

Empowerment is one of our core values — the foundation for the way we work.

We’re not coming in and telling clients what to do. We want to empower them to be the best leaders they can be. We do this by listening to their pain points, their issues, and then identifying the most effective places for them to focus on to grow. At the end of the day, we want the best for them, so they can be successful.

What’s something you’re really excited about with the launch of Kindship Group?

I can’t wait to see what our team will do together and how we’ll grow in the coming years. I’m just really excited for the journey and all the positive impacts we’ll have the great fortune to make for the organizations and brands we’re helping.
